Motivation quotes

Circumstance does not make the man; it reveals him to himself
James Allen

Your life is in your hands, to make of it what you choose
John Kehoe

Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things,
but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave
their future in someone else's hands, but not you.

Jim Rohn

The secret of getting ahead is getting started

Mark Twain

For true success ask yourself these four questions: Why? Why not? Why not
me? Why not now?
James Allen

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with
your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savoured.
Earl Nightingale

Release your mind. Horizontal and Vertical personal management

From day to day I can't stop thinking about my life, events, problems and future plans. It's always stressful if you keep all things in your head. The only one problem I see here is that our brains can store information but fulfill only one operation per thinking. That's why other thoughts waiting for your action. What if this time may take three days it equals to three days worrying.

I'm trying to fight against this and suppose horizontal and vertical personal management may help.

I'll start from illustration. From my point of view It will give you more clear understanding then words. :)

Day-to-day activity force us think about routine. We should organize it to system to release our mind.

Concept:

  • All problems, activities and actions should be written down on papers.

  • Big tasks should be split up to measurable and understandable points and also should be written down.

  • Papers should be divided to groups.

  • Define severity to each group.

  • And finally keep tracking your system everyday.

Day activities:

  • There should be allocated time to solve your problems and make progress on your things. Let it be define time 30 min. (You may ask me. Why 30 minutes? You should teach yourself to make decisions quickly and wisely. We have fast growing world and you should be competitive)

  • At least one paper should be picked up from one group.

  • Papers should be picked up from groups by severity.

  • You should do some progress on picked up paper.

  • Fill groups with new papers.

  • Finally, do it for all groups.

I see only advantages:

  • You always keep an eye on you things.

  • You make appropriate progress and right decisions.

  • Big task will be measurable and understandable.

  • You feel confident.

  • You don't have stress.

  • You drive your way.

  • FINALLY, YOU MANAGE YOUR LIFE BUT LIFE DOESN'T MANAGE YOU.

Organize your things by means of google calendar

I believe everyone already has own calendar both for work and for life. However, I'll focus on Google Calendar.
Why am I considering this calendar?
  • it's free
  • accessible from everywhere
  • integrated with other Google products
  • can be use with Microsoft outlook and other web-clients
  • and the main benefit is to send SMS when event occurred.
  • update and receive information about agenda for current or next day
I chose this calendar because of last points. It's very usefull. Just try it.

P.S. Please let me know if you have any questions

Self improvement. Calander is your best friend.

Today I'll be writing about calendar and how we can use it for self-organizing and pushing ourselves.

Time, money and importance are key factors for everyone. It's obvious but we usually disregard this facts.

I suppose you know how to use simple canlendar but I want to concentrate on another versions. This time it'll be kick-calendar. It's very simple but usefull.

Key principles of this calendar are:
  • to track your performance
  • not lose your goals in vanity of vanities
Procedure:
  • set global goals
  • write out goals
  • create knock-calendar that will display all days in year
  • combine goals and knock calendar
  • print it out
  • stick it on fridge
  • cross out current day everyday and ask your self "What do you do to get your goals?!"
  • track your performance
My implementation is on the following picture:
P.S. What do you think about? Could it usefull for you?

Book i'm reading now. "Getting Things Done"-The art of stress-free productivity

Name: Getting Things Done. The art of stress-free productivity.
Authors: David Allen

Book review:
The book consists of three parts. The first part explains how the GTD system and the basic methods and techniques that are related to it work. The second part is a practical guide to implementing the system in your own life. Part three describes the benefits you will get when you use the GTD process for everything in your work and in your life.

Getting Things Done may not change your life, but by teaching you how to get things out of your brain and into a trustworthy system of folders and lists it should help you make the life you have less stressful.
