Today is official day of starting wikia search.
Search engine will be based on user activity that might improve search process.

Please check this out. http://alpha.search.wikia.com/
Unfortunately this engine is in alpha version and currently it's coarse. I believe it'll have future and become rival against to Google.

What do you think?

What can I say - open source....
Especially I like this phrase "So the results are pretty bad. But we expect them to improve rapidly in coming weeks".

Agreed but not fully.
Sometime open-source projects are very successful.

I assumed Wikipedia wasn't good in alpha version.

The big advantage is strong background (wikipedia project) and new idea (thit's wikia search :) )

1) speed is bad
2) result is poor

i give bad mark :) at this moment.
about future - they should to make something very really cool, because i don't see any reasons why i should to use this application.

i saw some search engines before... but nothing now :)

so will see, what wiki can do
